Sussex Young Cricketers Educational Trust is a registered charity No. 294956

It was set up to enthuse, encourage and help in the development of young people in the wonderful game of cricket.
The Trust supports young boys and girls from diverse backgrounds and abilities, those youngsters who are visually impaired and young players who have a physical handicap.

The aim is to make Sussex a premier centre of cricketing excellence for youngsters, irrespective of their background or ability. The trust wants to ensure that any young person who displays an interest in sport is given every opportunity to develop both their playing abilities and their life skills |

The Trust has created a dedicated youth facility at Blackstone, near Henfield, West Sussex . This was opened in 2005 to provide a base for extensive use by the County and Area squads.

The funding for this project was raised by the SYCET , supported throughout by Sussex County Cricket Club., who generously donated £132,000 to ensure the target of £450,000 was achieved.

It is now the responsibility of the Trust to provide funding to maintain this unique facility and to extend its use through the inclusion of activities for all young cricketers- including finals of club competitions and area festivals, and a number of cricket related activity / educational day |

The SYCET also has a commitment to part funding of the Howzat! Learning Centre at the County Ground, Hove. This educational base allows under achieving youngsters in state schools to improve their numeracy and literacy skills through information technology and sport.
