"Sussex cricket has always been an important part of my life, and I welcome the opportunity to help young Sussex cricketers when I can. It's nice to put something back into the game that has given- and is still giving me- so much.
The Sussex Young Cricketers Educational Trust is there to give Sussex kids a chance to shine in the joys- and pains- of a great game, particularly the disadvantaged or disabled kids. The Trust also helps them in our special education Howzat centres, where they not only learn about cricket and how to play it , but also how to grow up as better citizens. It's amazing how learning Maths, Geography, and even English Literature can be so much fun when based on cricket.
We also have a dedicated cricket centre at Blackstone near Henfield, for the Under 19s and downwards to play competitive cricket against other Counties, and where cricket coaching is available for Sussex school children. Special games and coaching are also arranged there for disabled and visually impaired children -and how they love it!
Over half the current league topping Sussex side have come through the Sussex Young Cricketers system- what a good investment it is proving. How many other Counties are fielding as much home grown talent ?
All this, of course, requires a great deal of funding- and hopefully that's where you come in.
If you can help in any way as a sponsor , big or small, you'll be giving a great deal to the local community in the region, reflecting a very favourable image on your own business and, equally important , have some fun while doing it.
Sussex cricket is on a roll, There's never been a better moment to sponsor youth cricket in Sussex so come and join us! "
